SUMMARY:The Beechwood Stroll
DESCRIPTION:The Beechwood Cemetery Stroll is a guided historical tour through Beechwood\, the National Cemetery of Canada. Tours are given on the last Sunday of each month\, rain or shine\, and begin at 1:00PM. \nTours start from the Beechwood National Memorial Centre\, located just off our Beechwood Avenue entrance. \nThe Beechwood Cemetery Stroll is led by trained volunteers and focuses on local history and notable features and sections within this National Historic Site. \nThe tour is free of charge\, and is family friendly. \nThe route for the Stroll is a gentle 1.5 hour walk and is wheelchair accessible. \nPlease wear good walking shoes\, clothing suitable for the weather and bring water if needed. \nFor more information\, contact Nicolas at nmccarthy@beechwoodottawa.ca or call (613) 696-0112.

DESCRIPTION:The Ottawa Independent Living Resource Centre (OILRC) will be hosting an open house to all those interested in checking out their Centre and learning about the services and supports they offer. There will be a variety of activities\, snacks and drinks\, music\, and of course good conversation! Entrance is free\, however donations are always appreciated. \nThis event will be held in English and French. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the official launch event to kickoff Together Ottawa Ensemble! \nAll members of the community are invited to join us at this free\, bilingual event to share in a moment of silent remembrance of those we have lost; hear personal stories from front-line workers and others deeply impacted by the pandemic; listen to live music performed by The Broken Bridges; and enjoy food provided by Moo Shu Ice Cream and Chef Ric’s. A welcoming ceremony by an Indigenous Elder will also be featured\, as well as words from Mayor Watson and Dr. Vera Etches. \nWe hope to see you at Jean Pigott Hall within Ottawa City Hall on June 11!
