DESCRIPTION:Exploring the vast grounds of Beechwood\, this version of the tour program focuses not only on the history of Beechwood and those buried here\, but more specifically on those who were involved with the Indigenous Community. Those like Dr. Peter Henderson Brice\, who while working at Indian Affairs documented the health crisis in the Residential school system; and Nicolas Flood Davin\, who wrote the book “Industrial Schools for Indians and Half Breeds” that was used as the foundation for creating the residential schools. \nThe tour lasts roughly 1 hour\, and is free of charge. SUMMARY:Cornerstone 'Spiritual Wellness Day'
DESCRIPTION:The focus of this day is to provide the residents of Cornerstone Housing for Women with opportunities to experience different positive experiential relaxation and meditation techniques. Learning the art of self soothing\, relaxation and meditation is difficult thing for many of our residents\, as they don’t have the means or opportunities to find these resources on their own. The women will have opportunities to have fun doing yoga\, sacred movement\, art and a spiritual nature. The day will end with a barbeque. \nThis event is only for residents\, volunteers and staff of Cornerstone Housing for Women.

SUMMARY:SLCAO Vesak Celebrations and Dansala
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Vesak and Poson\, the Sri Lanka Canada Association of Ottawa (SLCAO) is hosting an in-person event that will consist of Vesak-Koodu (lanterns) displays\, singing of Bakthi Gee (devotional songs) and a Dansala (free meals).
